2023 - Agroecology and the Markets : what approaches and valorisation for the agri-food sectors

Agroecology at the heart of the transformations of our food system is part of national and international public policy. The development of agroecological approaches along with their valorisations in the agri-food sector are multiple, generating ecnomic, ecologic and societal values. The actors of the downstream of the sectors (farmers, providers ...) and upstream (collectors, tranformers, distributors, ...) must guarantee food sovereignty while operating the transformations that are necessary. The latter are necessarily associated with agriculture productions and the large variety of its territories and actors.

In order to understand the complexity notably of the concept according to actors, the scientific direction of INRAE and its industry groups led a study of the agri-food sector. This work aimed at identifying the modalities of appropriation by the actors of the agroecology concept that transform it into productive approaches and value enhancement strategies on the market.
