INRAE's groups for the industry & research

What are the "Groupes Filières" ?

14 groups called the "Groupes Filières" from the different animal (sheep & goats, pigs, rabbits, poultry, fish, horses, cattle) and plant sectors (cereals, pulses, oilseeds, ornemental horticulture, fruits-vegetables and potatoes, grapes and grape products and agroforestry).

  • These groups include representatives from all of INRAE's scientific divisions, from the biotechnical sciences to economics and social sciences, with the objective of treating challenges in research and in the sectors in their globality. Members of technical institutes and professional organizations may also be invited to participate.
  • All these experts help INRAE's governing bodies make strategic choices and inform partners about INRAE's orientations and research results.
  • The activities of these groups are made up of:
    • The production of conjunctural notes or reviews concerning how the sectors work and who their operators are.
    • Monitoring of the state of knowledge and research currently underway at INRAE so that our partners and notably the sector, can be informed.
    • The identification of strategic, economic and scientific challenges of the  sectors.
    • Carrying out expert appraisals for INRAE and its partners.
    • The promotion of their work through publications, professional encounters and meetings.
